Groups offer a safe and supportive environment in which to explore our creative processes and inner worlds with others, who may have had similar experiences or have similar goals. Often, working in this way becomes a playful and imaginative way to embrace the healing process or develop increased self-awareness or expression.

Current Workshops

Kintsugi. An exploration and celebration of imperfection

A two hour workshop, for everyone, run in various settings in collaboration with Artist and Art Psychotherapist Lisa Snook.

Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of mending a broken piece of pottery with lacquered gold. By enhancing it’s ‘brokenness’ and valuing its ‘story’, the object is considered more beautiful. We believe a person too can be considered more beautiful with the marks of their experience as visible signs of their life’s journey.

In this workshop, we mend and repair broken objects or memories, creating a parallel to our inner journeys of healing. In doing so, we celebrate and free the parts of ourselves born of trauma, bereavements and loss, as part of our unique stories.

Kintsugi workshops enable story-telling, between us, about your relationship to, or the meaning of, the object you choose to repair. Along with the opportunity to explore your creativity, in a safe, non-judgemental environment. There is no right or wrong way when it comes to exploring meaning and creativity, it’s what we discover about ourselves and others along the way that counts.

The Warrior Within

A two hour workshop, run weekly for eight weeks, for survivors of childhood abuse and violence.

In a safe and supportive environment, this series of workshops is designed to help survivors explore and regain control of the traumatic effects of past experiences, in order to improve their quality of life in the present.

Sometimes we stop listening to our thoughts and feelings. At other times they are too loud and we find them distracting. Through creative mediums, including artwork, story and music, as well as talk, we will aim to understand ourselves and experiences in new ways, ushering in the possibility of healing and growth.

You do not need to be able to talk or think clearly, or have experience using art materials or music. All you need is the willingness to ‘give creativity a go’ in-order to support your Warrior Within

Storymaking: the Magic of Metaphor

Delving into the magic of myth, mystery and metaphor, we tell stories of old, incarnated anew.

Designed to resonate with adults and/or children, stories can help us to explore burning questions, themes and ideas from the comfort of our cushions. Therapeutically, they can be tailored to help us understand painful situations and dilemmas, allowing us to re-imagine the characters feelings, choices and journeys.

We provide storytelling to simply relax and entertain, and/or design explorative story workshops around a particular theme or story. No experience needed. Are you sitting comfortably….?
